Nessa is an F1 Tonkinese: a first-generation Tonkinese from the foundation Burmese and Siamese heritage behind the breed. We were passionate about establishing our own Tonkinese line, which is why Nessa was the perfect choice to begin that journey.
What does Brown TCR mean?
Brown is her colour; it is the rich, dark brown often called Seal outside the UK. TCR means Tonkinese Colour Restriction, also known as the mink coat type. It gives a softly blended contrast between a lighter body and deeper brown face, ears, legs and tail, together with her characteristic green-blue eyes.
Nessa has been DNA-tested clear for Burmese Head Defect, Hypokalaemic Polymyopathy, Progressive Retinal Atrophy, Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency and GM2 Gangliosidosis. Her laboratory report is available on request.
Moana is Nessa’s daughter and brings plenty of character to the household. She loves a shoulder ride and is always ready for a chat — a very typical Tonkinese companion.
What does Brown CPP mean?
Brown is Moana’s colour, while CPP means Colourpointed Pattern. This is the pointed coat type: a pale body with clearly darker brown points on the face, ears, legs, feet and tail. CPP Tonkinese have clear blue eyes.
Both of Moana’s parents were DNA-tested clear for the inherited conditions screened in Nessa. Moana is therefore clear by parentage, so repeat testing for those same conditions is not required.
